Kargil, March 08: The Indian Army, in collaboration with Govt. Degree College, Drass, today organized a symposium titled “Empowering Women, Empowering Nation: Towards a Gender-Equal Society” to commemorate International Women’s Day. 

The symposium was graced by Councilor Bimbat, Abdul Wahid, and Vishal Atri, SDM Drass, as chief guests, other prominent personalities, women across various sectors, students, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

Keynote speakers shared valuable insights on critical topics, including Violence Against Women and Redressal Channels by Representative of Kargil Police, Gender Equality & Women’s Rights by Talib Hussain, Advocate, Role of Women in Nation Building by Dr. Shameena Rehman, Assistant Professor, Women in Social Entrepreneurship by Saldon Shifa, CEO, rZAMBA, and Women Entrepreneurship and Challenges by Riffat Ameen Lone, Proprietor, La-Café.

An interactive Q&A session followed, fostering a spirit of collaboration and empowerment. With its successful culmination, the event has set the tone for a gender-equal society, inspiring women to take the lead in shaping a brighter future.
