Chennai: India have set a victory target of 269 runs for the West Indies, in their final Group ‘B’ league match of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Electing to bat in the Day-Night game at Chepauk in Chennai, they were all out for 268 in 49.1 overs. Yuvraj Singh hit a fine 113 which was his first World Cup century and also his 13th ODI hundred.
The result of this match will decide the quarter-final line-up of the tournament.
In today’s other World Cup match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Zimbabwe defeated Kenya by 161 runs in Group ‘A’. Chasing 309 for a win, Kenya were all out for 147 in 36 overs. Earlier, electing to bat, Zimbabwe made 308 for six in the stipulated 50 overs.
Both teams were already out of the race for the quarter-finals. Zimbabwe finished their engagements in the World Cup with four points, while Kenya ended their campaign without a win in their six games.
