SRINAGAR, October 26(KMW): “Prior to the aggression of Indian Armed Forces into the territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the garb of so called ‘Instrument of Accession’ was a sovereign independent country. The resistance that took place in the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir was the consequence of the above said naked aggression whereby the sovereignty of people of J & K was robbed under a design by Government of India ”, said Engineer Hilal War .
Terming October 27, 1947, a slur on the face of Indian democracy and a big question mark on the credibility, relevance, purpose and existence of United Nations, the Chairman of People’s Political Party (PPP), Engineer Hilal Ahmad War urged the people of Kashmir to observe October 27 as a black day.
Mr. War said, Jammu Kashmir was a sovereign and an Independent Nation by virtue of Indian Independence Act, 1947 passed by British Parliament till October 26, 1947. The intervention and military action of Indian Army on October 27, 1947 was unconstitutional, illegal, unjustified and against the golden principles of United Nations Charter. This was the darkest day in the History of Jammu and Kashmir wherefrom Indian Army occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of people of Jammu and Kashmir and enslaved a nation.

Moreover , Government of India , in violation of all norms of humanity , decency, democratic principles and even the United Nations Charter, deployed Indian Army , supported by Indian Air Force , to wage a war against the people of Jammu and Kashmir , on the pretext of the so-called Accession which was a mockery and deception to hoodwink the world.
The PPP Chairman said that the diplomatic channels should be opened across the world to draw the attention of the world community towards the Indian occupation in Kashmir which is not only against the wishes of its inhabitants but also against the philosophy, purpose and the very existence of United Nations.
