India and basque country to enhance cooperation in Renewable Energy

NEW DELHI: President of the Basque Country “Communidad Autonoma del Pais Vasco”, Spain Mr. Patxi Lopez met Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah in New Delhi. Both the leaders were accompanied by high level delegations. During the meeting the two sides discussed possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the two sides in Renewable Energy.

The visiting dignitary briefed Dr. Abdullah about the emphasis being laid by Basque Country “Communidad Autonoma del Pais Vasco”, Spain on Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy. He made a specific mention of Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles, On & Off-shore Wind Energy, Solar Thermal & Solar PV, Bio-mass, Marine & Geothermal Energy as the areas having special attention of their Government. Dr. Abdullah gave details of the developments made by India in various areas of Renewable Energy, especially Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Bio-fuels and Waste to Energy. Dr. Abdullah suggested that India and Spain have great potential for enhancing corporation in promoting Renewable Energy and offered to provide all possible assistance for the purpose. Both sides agreed to take to share experiences of developments in Renewable Energy.
The visiting dignitary invited Dr. Abdullah along with a business delegation from India to see the developments made by Basque country in Renewable Energy. (KMW NEWS)
