Inaugural ANO’s and CTO’s Conference of 2 Ladakh Bn NCC Kargil held

Kargil, April 10: A landmark event marking a significant milestone, an engaging and compelling ANO’s/CTO’s Conference featuring insightful presentation and lively debate was held today by 2 Ladakh Bn NCC Unit Kargil, under the leadership of its Commanding Officer Col Suveer Seth.

The Conference was first of its kind after successful and formal raising of the unit here in Kargil only. The event brought together key stakeholders, including Adm Officer, ANOs, CTOs, SM, Trg JCO and PI staff of the Unit. ANOs and CTOs across District Kargil attended the Conference with enthusiasm and passion.

Threadbare and in depth deliberations were held, encompassing all those domains and realms attracting immediate responses and redressals.

The Commanding officer in his opening remarks affirmed in strong voice, that every possible efforts shall be placed and novel initiatives be taken to make the unit, a vibrant and a progressive one.

The Commanding Officer highlighted the aim of the conference and advised all that the institutional and camp training programs be structured in a way to provide a conducive and congenial ecosystem to inculcate the tenets of a regimental way of life, so that the cadets may emerge as confident, convinced, disciplined and accountable citizens.

The Commanding Officer reaffirmed that training programs should be designed to produce a pool of motivated, trained, and organized youth capable of leading in all walks of life, while highlighting the core aims and objectives of the NCC.

Some of the key issues, which emerged as the focal points of discussion included the following:

1: Strengthening of existing NCC Units in institutions: The Commanding Officer stressed the need to bolster existing NCC units in Schools/Colleges with a special focus on human resource and infrastructural upgradation. The Commanding Officer said that institutions without NCC units can approach 2 Ladakh Bn NCC Kargil, as there are vacancies available.

2: Enrolment of Girl Cadets: All the ANOs and CTOs were advised to encourage enrolment of more girl cadets to foster diversity, gender equality and inclusiveness.

3: Training and Activities. It also highlighted the importance of structuring training programs to equip cadets with essential skills, broadening their realms of job opportunities and employability. It may help them to excel as Army Officers, Civil Servants or Agniveers, embodying the spirit of bravery and chivalry.

 4: Social Services and Community Development: ANOs and CTOs were urged to foster healthy relationships with civilians through social services and community development initiatives, promoting a sense of unity and integrity.

 5: Administrative Support: The Commanding Officer confirmed that both Civil and UT Administration have pledged their support to elevate 2 Ladakh Bn NCC Kargil, as an emergent and exemplary unit.

6: NCC Camps of National Reputes: The Conference provided a platform for indepth discussions for healthy participations of Cadets of Kargil in NCC Camps of National and international repute including TSC, AAC, SNIC, ALC, RDC, EBSB and YEP.

Associate NCC Officer Govt. ML Boys’ HSS Kargil Lt Mohmad Hussain said that 2 Ladakh Bn NCC Kargil is all geared up to make a lasting impact in the region, in terms of human resource development and management. The Conference concluded with a high tea with the Officers of the Indian Army.
