Hurriyat (M) delegation arrives in valley; gets rousing reception

Afghan peace linked to Kashmir solution: Mirwaiz.
Srinagar: The Hurriyat conference (M) delegation led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq after concluding its 10 days visit to Pakistan arrived today at the Srinagar airport, where hundreds of people were waiting for welcoming the delegation.
Apart from Mirwaiz, the delegation included Hurriyat leaders, Abdul Gani Bhat, Moulana Abbas Ansari, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Agha Syed Hassan, Bilal Gani Lone and Mussadiq Adil.
The Mirwaiz in the shape of a convoy was taken directly to the historic Jama Masjid where he offered Friday prayers and addressed the Friday congregation.
Terming the Hurriyat delegation’s visit as extremely important, the Mirwaiz said that their visit has paved way for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
“We not only talked to people in power, but we also exchanged ideas with people of various other political parties and civil socity”, the Mirwaiz said.
He said the people of Pakistan were aware of the sufferings of Kashmiri people. “Pakistan has time and again provided diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmiris and they promised to continue that”, he added.
He said the Kashmir dispute was the biggest hurdle in the economic cooperation and development of India and Pakistan. “Unless they resolve the issue, their dream of flourishing subcontinent will remain unfulfilled”, he said.
He said solutions to the the Afghan problem should be linked to the solution of Kashmir issue. “Solution to Afghanisatan depends upon better relations between India and Pakistan which are on the other hand dependent upon the resolution of Kashmir issue”, the Mirwaiz said.
He said if the solution of Kashmir was not found at the earliest, the 2010 popular movement could repeat itself during 2013 and 20114
He said the Kashmiri people had support of Pakistani people and its government, adding, the delegation has stressed the political parties to include Kashmir in their election manifestos during the campaigning for elections to be held in 2013.
Mirwaiz said the Pakistani people and government were well aware with the Kashmiri’s agony and sufferings and Pakistan has assured the delegation of full moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmir cause.
He said the entire Pakistan nation was feeling that Kashmir dispute should be resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people. Mirwaiz said, “There is realization in Pakistan that any process aimed at solving the K dispute is a futile affair without the inclusion of genuine Kashmiri leadership.”
Mirwaiz said that Kashmir was the main obstacle coming in way of normalizing the trade relations between India and Pakistan. He said the stability and relations between the two countries would never improve unless the Kashmir issue is not solved according to the wishes of people.
APHC Chairman said that India should show flexibility in her stand as it is not always that people would be enslaved using military and economic resources.
The Hurriyat chairman said the conglomerate was not averse to talks, but the pre-condition was that there should be visible change in the ground situation in Kashmir. Till then, he cleared that all the negotiations regarding the K dispute would be a futile exercise.
Mirwaiz stressed that intra-Kashmir dialogue should be initiated between the leadership of both the Kashmir’s to arrive at consensus regarding K issue. He said that the hurdles coming in way of trade and people to people contact should be removed and people should be allowed to move in respective Kashmirs by using just an ID card.
