Srinagar, December 17(KMW): PPP Chairman and senior Hurriyat leader Engineer Hilal Ahmad War continues to be under house arrest for the third consecutive day after a police party raided his house on December 15 and prevented him from moving out. Police foiled the proposed ‘Badam Bagh ( 15 Corps -Army Cantonment,) Chalo March’ of JRL when a heavy contingent of police headed by SHO police station Maisuma raided the Maisuma residence ( War House ) of Mr. War.
Pertinently Mr. War was supposed to march towards Badam Bagh (15 Corps-Army Cantonment) as per the scheduled programme on December 17 to lead the March from his residence.
Expressing a strong resentment, War said such tactics won’t bog down the freedom loving Kashmiris and their leadership. He condemned the highhandedness of the state police in strong words and said that the sacrifices of Kashmiris will bear the fruit of freedom. Mr. War urged the United Nations to take a call on Kashmir without wasting anytime and expose Indian brutalities in Kashmir and implement UN Security Council Plebiscite Resolutions in order to save the Kashmiris from genocide and allow them to decide their political future as enshrined in United Nation Charter.
PPP spokesperson condemned the arrest of party chairman in strongest possible words saying it amounts to State oppression and a denial of freedom of expression and peace-full assembly.
