Srinagar: January 25(KMW): Indian State authorities today put seasoned leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) and Chairman, People’s Political Party (PPP), Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, under house detention. Police officials informed the Engineer Hilal Ahmad War about his house detention and said that he can’t move out from his Maisuma residence today around 5:30 p.m.

Mr. Hilal War condemned the target killing in strongest words of unarmed and innocent teenager, Shakir Ahmad Mir, a 17 year old boy, of Qalampora, Shopian who was martyred by the Government forces yesterday.
It is pertinent to mention here that PPP Chief including JRL and UJC have appealed people of Jammu and Kashmir to observe January 26, Indian Republic Day, as ‘Black Day’. The PPP Chairman was scheduled to register a protest on January 26 against India Government’s celebration of Indian Republic Day on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir which is a disputed territory. The PPP spokesperson condemned the house detention of party Chairman in strong words saying it amounts to violation of fundamental rights.
