Srinagar, Aug 27: Senior APHC leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir and Engineer Hilal Ahmad War in a statement today in strong possible words while condemning the arrest and sending amalgam Chairman and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Muhammad Umar Farooq for 10-days judicial custody at Cheshamshahi where a hut has been designated as sub jail said, the arrest of Mirwaiz reflects the government’s frustration.
They said the government seems to have been frustrated by people’s agitation in the length and breadth of Kashmir from the continuous 50 days despite strict curfew and restrictions. They said the resistance leadership for the larger goal of Kashmiri people was placed behind the bars including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmad Shah and others clearly indicate the puppet government did not have the courage to fight the resistance leadership politically and as such banning their peaceful activities, placing curbs on their movement and arresting them, and is a way accepting their defeat.
Hilal Ahmad War and Javaid Ahmad Mir who themselves are under house arrest from the last 50 days made it clear that such tactics had never worked against the resistance movement in the past nor would they work in the future.
“If they (Indian rulers) really believe in their claim, they would never ever stop Kashmiri oppressed people and their leaders to come on streets and place them under arrest or even kill them. Delhi is looking to add one more black chapter in its tyranny in Kashmir, adding, the unprecedented oppressive wave is being unleashed on the masses of Kashmir to suppress their just struggle of freedom.
