High Court quashes Masarat’s PSA, directs his release

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 21:  Jammu and Kashmir High Court, on Friday quashed the Public Safety Act (PSA) against Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League incarcerated chairman, Masarat Alam Bhat.

Justice Hasnain Masoodi, allowed his decision which was reserved on July 7, 2015, sources said.

They said that high court while announcing the decision on Habeas carpeas no 32 directed to release Masarat Alam.

Masarat is undergoing detention in Kot Balwal jail Jammu.

He was arrested on February 17 this year after a hue and cry when he attended a rally to receive Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani in Srinagar organised by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.
