New Delhi: The Government today said the testimony by Lashkar operative David Coleman Headley against Mumbai terror attack co-accused Tahawwur Rana in a US court had only confirmed India’s suspicions regarding the actors involved in the 26/11 attack.
It, however, said it would come out with full response to the disclosures in the Chicago court once the hearing was complete.Replying to questions during media briefing by Group of Ministers, Minister for Water Resources and Minority Affairs Salman Khurshid said Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had again and again told Pakistani authorities about the actors involved in the attack.Headley had yesterday told a Chicago court how he took theguidance of ISI officer Major Iqbal and his LeT handler Sajid Mir in plotting the minute details of the 26/11 attack.”This is something that we have been bringing to the notice of interlocutors of both the sides,” Mr Khurshid said.”Now this is being confirmed in the court of a foreign land, and I hope the evidence would be taken note of,” he added.Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was also briefing the media jointly with Mr Khurshid, said the trial had just started and once the hearing was complete, the government would hold a”special briefing”.
