New Delhi, July 29 The Delhi High Court on Monday reserved its orders in the interim bail plea by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well as a petition challenging his arrest by the CBI in the Delhi excise policy case.

Justice Neena Bansal Krishna, after hearing arguments from both the sides, reserved the order.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, opposed CBI’s argument that he should move the trial court for bail.

The case against Kejriwal arises from the alleged irregularities in framing the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy of 2021-22.

The case involves allegations that several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders including Kejriwal were involved in deliberately leaving behind loopholes in the excise policy in exchange for kickbacks from liquor lobbies.

The corruption and money laundering aspects of the case are being probed by both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
