Srinagar, 31 Oct: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Liberation Party, Hashim Qureshi Friday said that he has decided to file a legal suite against R.K. Yadav, a former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer who in his book titled, ‘Mission R&AW’ in chapter 8 captioned, “Liberation of Bangladesh” at Page 227 has leveled certain baseless allegation against him.

Quereshi said that the former RAW official, in his book Mission R&AW published by Manas Publications, has made some unfounded statement claiming that “the Ganga Hijacking on 30 January 1971 was planned by R&AW and BSF.”
While dismissing the content regarding Ganga hijacking, Qureshi according to KMW has taken a serious note of the ‘unfounded statement’ and through his Counsel; Riyaz Ahmed Jan has issued a legal notice to Mr Yadav. In the legal notice Mr Yadav has been advised to publish denial to his comments in leading newspapers failing which a defamation suit for Rs. 5 Crore would be filed against him.
Pertinently, a case related to hijacking of Ganga is still pending in District Session Court Srinagar under Enemy Ordinance (3) Act from last ten years.
