Govt striving to provide Health facilities at people’s doorstep: Chib

SRINAGAR: Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Mr. R.S. Chib today said that government is striving to provide health facilities to the people at their doorsteps and has initiated measures to upgrade basic services, infrastructure of medical colleges.
The Minister was speaking while inaugurating primary health centre at Hazratbal which will function round the clock.
The Minister of State for Health, Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar, MLA Hazratbal, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Principal Medical College, Srinagar, Dr. Qazi Masood, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem Rehman, HoD Social and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Safoora Bilques and members of medical fraternity were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has initiated a massive programme for creating health infrastructure throughout the state particularly in far flung areas and is striving that benefits of these services should reach at the grass root level.
The medical colleges of the state are being upgraded to the AIIMS level so that better patient care facilities are provided to the people, he added.
Mr. Chib said that primary health centre Hazratbal has importance as lakhs of devotees visit the Dargah Hazratbal daily and this would provide round the clock first aid medical services to the people. He said that measures are underway to improve the services of PHC Hazratbal to community centre. He said Rs. 30 lakh have been incurred for the renovation of PHC Hazratbal, PHC Harwan, AD Tailbal along with installation of hi tech machines adding that block Hazratbal will be upgraded to a model block by social and preventive medicine for carrying it operational work.
The Minister also inaugurated new type PHC Harwan and PHC Fakir Gujri which is near to completion will be opened very soon which will cater the needs of the tribal population of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for State for Health, Mr. Javid Ahmad Dar said that the demand of primary health centre of the people of the area has been fulfilled which will run round the clock and asked the doctors to work with more devotion and dedication so that people get first hand medical services as per their aspiration. The upgradation of this centre will be carried in due course of time as the government has prioritized the health sector to provide best medical facilities to the people of the state.
