SRINAGAR, JULY 02: Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti today said the Government needs some more time to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.
Speaking in the Legislative Council here today, the Chief Minister said given the financial health of the State, the government employees shall have to wait for at least for two years for implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
She said the government has many issues on the fiscal front in the form of liabilities including around Rs 20000 crore missing General Provident Fund (GPF) money.
She said the Government is also working out a mechanism for the regularization of around 61000 casual employees which will also cost a fortune to the State.
“We are committed to the welfare of our employees and will take all the necessary measures for their benefit,” she said.
The recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission got the Union Cabinet nod three days ago, which will benefit over one crore central government employees and pensioners.
