Governor visits Army’s XV Corps in

Srinagar Srinagar: In the back drop of a faceoff between police and army in Leh, Governor, N. N. Vohra, Saturday visited Headquarters XV Corps here on Saturday.An official spokesman here said that Lt. Gen Syed Atta Hasnain, Commander, XV Corps, gave a detailed briefing to the Governor on the internal and external security situation in the Kashmir Valley, the entire area of which falls under the responsibility of the important Corps. The Governor discussed with the Corps Commander and other senior Army officers various important matters which have a bearing on the overall security environment in the State.The Governor was also briefed about the various development works being executed by the Army under Operation Sadbhavana for the benefit of the people, particularly those living in the remote and far-flung areas, the official added.
