Journalist Rameez Makhdoomi presides

In an important academic development, the Boys Higher Secondary School Gurgari Mohalla conducted a Drug Awareness Programme for its students. The programme was also attended by the faculty.
Eminent Journalist Rameez Makhdoomi held an interactive session with the students and delivered key points on drug addiction.

He stressed to students that Downtown is soul of Kashmir and growing drug addiction here is a matter of great concern.

Journalist Rameez Makhdoomi urged the students to be cautious while forming friendships and interacting with unknown individuals.

He observed that drug menace is today emerging as among the serious issue faced by the youth of Kashmir and world.

Rameez Makhdoomi observed ” Every youth has his or her unique journey and parents and all the related stakeholders need to understand and not to pressurize the youth unnecessarily. The huge pressure by teachers, parents or society can lead the youth astray, which needs to be taken into concern.”

Rameez Makhdoomi hoped that youth of Downtown would emerge as ambassadors of positivity to end drug menace.

He lauded the efforts of Gurgari Mohalla School in organizing series of awareness campaigns to curb the social evils.
Sheikh Sameer , Faculty Member and Sociologist observed that Kashmir was once an intellectual seat of Knowledge produced great sons of soil like Abhinav, Gupt, sufi scholars of repute like sheikh Noori din RA and eminent historians like Kalhan Pandit and urged the students to stay connected with academics and knowledge sources to stay aloof from vices .
He lauded the Directorate of education and Government for initiating such efforts that help the future to get awaken about numerous issues and challenges.
Taranum Saleem Principal Gurgari Mohalla Government Boys Higher Secondary School appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Education and Government for launching awareness campaign for students on burning issues and presented vote of thanks.
