Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s autobiography, ‘Wular ke Kinarey’, will be released on July 7, a spokesman of the amalgam said Tuesday. The spokesman said the 571-page book will reveal several “unknown facts” about Geelani’s life and important political events, such as the partition of sub-continent, the holy relic movement in Kashmir, the 1965 Indo-Pak war and Tashkent agreement between the two countries.“Although he has authored more than 30 books and pamphlets already, Wular ke Kinaray is unique because Geelani has made some startling revelations in the book for the first time,” the spokesman said, adding that “intellectuals, journalists and lawyers are expected to attend the release function at Hotel Grand Mumtaz on July 7 at 2 p.m.”“Geelani has been working on the book for the last one and a half year and has also tried to throw light on the personality of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and other political figures, the political and religious activities of Jamat-e-Islami, and the reasons behind the political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir,” the spokesman said.“The book also talks about Kashmiri leaders’ visit to Pakistan among other things,” the spokesman said, adding that due to “paucity of space at the hotel’s auditorium only a select number of people shall be invited to the launch.”“Hurriyat Conference apologizes to people who will miss out due to lack of space,” the spokesman said.Meanwhile, Geelani has strongly condemned the re-arrest of Tehreek-Hurriyat general secretary Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and leader of Ummat Islami Qazi Yasir , accusing the ruling National Conference of following a policy of “political vendetta” regarding pro-freedom leaders.
