Srinagar, Apr 20 (KMW): While condemning the killings of youth by the government forces in Kashmir Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday alleged that anti human black laws like AFSPA and the license under such laws to kill freely, was a deep conspiracy hatched to curb the ongoing movement in Kashmir.
In a statement to KMW a spokesman of the Hurriyat (M) said, “Mirwaiz along with a Hurriyat delegation was in Narbal to express solidarity with the father and other family members of the martyred Suhail Ahmad Sofi, a young and promising student, who was killed in the Police firing recently. Mirwaiz expressed condolence with the bereaved family and passed his word of solace and encouragement to them.
“The other members of the delegation including  Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Javaid Ahmad Mir and others,” he said.
On the occasion a protest procession was brought out from the local Jamia Masjid to Narbal Chowk. Apart from Mirwaiz, senior resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other leaders as well as a large number of people participated in the procession.
In the main chowk of Narbal while addressing the protest rally Mirwaiz while paying rich tributes to Suhail Ahmad Sofi and all the martyrs of the movement, said, “BJP and other pro-Indian parties of Kashmir were equally and jointly engaged in the efforts of weakening the resistance movement of Kashmir, however, commitment of the people of Kashmir and especially, that of the young generation towards the movement will not allow them to succeed.”
He said that killing of Kashmiris on one pretext or the other and imposition of restrictions on resistance leadership day in and day out is done with the purpose to get the people on their knees and make them give up their resistance. He, cautioned, that the tactics of suppression and oppression is not going to change the fundamental realities of Kashmir issue nor is it going to put the issue under the carpet for ever.
Amid the chanting of loud slogans in favor of freedom, Mirwaiz announced that the people of Kashmir are united and one in perusing their goal and the mission of martyrs would be taken to its destination with complete unity of purpose and commitment.
The Hurriyat (M) chairman said the settlement of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the people was imperative for the establishment of durable peace in Kashmir. “Indian establishment and their partners in the state have tried every possible method of oppression on Kashmiris but still not only Kashmir issue stands as a stark reality but because of the huge sacrifices offered by the people and because of the sensitivities attached to it, international communities’ considers the resolution of this issue as an important factor for the establishment of peace in South Asia,” he said.
