Geelani pays tributes to Jammu martyrs

Srinagar: Paying rich tributes to martyrs of Jammu on their 65th anniversary Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has said that the people living in Jammu have contributed lot and exhibited commitment and dedication to the on-going freedom movement.
In a press statement spokesman of conglomerate Ayaz Akbar, quoting Syed Ali Geelani, while paying heartiest tributes to martyrs of Jammu on their 65th anniversary said, “They have created history and their memory is still fresh in our mind”.
“The large scale massacre by sectarian forces made every attempt to fulfill their sinister designs but the valor and the courage, together with determination made their conspiracy fail”, he quoted Geelani.
Praying for the departed souls Syed Ali Geelani said, “Even the women and children were slaughtered in brutal manner and history stands witness that their sacrifices will never go waste and blood sacrificed for the pious cause will yield result Insha Allah”.
Syeed Ali Geelani termed the killing of Jammu Muslims as ethnic cleansing sponsored by fascist forces.
Expressing his sympathies, Syed Ali Geelani added that he stood with the people of Jammu.
“The massacre in Jammu is a sad chapter of our history. I think it was a one among the most serious turn in history and better to say it a holocaust”.
Syed Ali Geelani urged the people to keep unity among its folds and safeguard the sacrifices offered by people of Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion Syed Ali Geelani urged the United Nations Organization to persist with its efforts to pressure India fulfills its commitment and allow people to express their will and opinion with regard to their political future.
