GDC Drass organizes 3-day yoga retreat for students, faculty

Kargil, May 17: Department of Physical Education, GDC Drass conducted a three-day yoga session yoga retreat for its students and faculty members from May 15 to May 17, 2024.

The retreat was aimed to promote the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being among the college community. The sessions included instruction on various yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation techniques.

The retreat was well-received by participants, who appreciated the opportunity to learn and practice yoga under the guidance of experienced instructors. The sessions provided a platform for students and faculty to relax, de-stress and improve their overall health.

GDC Drass is committed to promote holistic development of its students and faculty. Yoga is a valuable tool that can help individuals achieve greater physical and mental well-being, and the college is pleased to offer such programs to its community.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal GDC Drass, expressed his gratitude to yoga instructor Raj Kumar. He lauded the efforts of the Department of Sports for organizing such a successful event, highlighting the positive impact it had on the college community. Dr. Abassi further emphasized the importance of incorporating such wellness programs regularly and expressed his hope for more similar events in the near future.

In the end, Mohd Yassin, College Director Physical Education and Sports expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants and guests. He also thanked the staff members and the principal for unwavering support and encouragement.
