New Delhi, July 14 The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday said that people taking Sputnik-V’s Covid-19 vaccine can take a booster dose or another vaccine at an interval of six months.
Secretary of the Ministry, Rajesh Bhushan, in a letter to the Chief Secretaries and Administrators of all the States and Union Territories on Thursday, said the interval for the second and booster vaccines of all Covid-19 vaccines has been reduced to six months or 26 weeks.
The Ministry further said that this system will also be effective on all persons who have taken the Covid vaccine of Sputnik-V. Private Covid-19 vaccination centers should ensure storage of Sputnik-V Covid-19 vaccine with them, he added.
The Ministry said that the number of people taking Sputnik-V’s Covid-19 vaccine in the country was 0.5 per cent.
Bhushan assured that the Central government will fully cooperate in maintaining the availability of Sputnik Covid-19 vaccine.
