Full-dress rehearsals held across Kargil ahead of Republic Day celebrations

Kargil, Jan 24: Ahead of the Republic Day 2025 celebrations, full-dress rehearsals were held today at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Biamathang, Kargil, as well as in Zanskar and Drass sub divisions.

The rehearsals were held as a precursor to the actual Republic Day parade to be held on January 26, 2025. At the full-dress rehearsal at Biamathang Stadium, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani, unfurled the tricolor, inspected the parade, and took the salute during the march-past presented by male and female contingents of the Police, students from various schools, and the Ladakh Police band party.

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Senior Superintendent of Police, Shree Ram R., ACR, and other district officers were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of various aspects of the function including arrangements put in place at the venue like security, seating arrangements, parking, sanitation, PA system besides other related necessary arrangements.

Meanwhile, the students of different schools of Kargil and cultural groups also presented attractive cultural programs that reflected their patriotic feelings for the country.

The DC instructed to replicate the function similarly and in close coordination on the day of the main event of Republic Day.

Meanwhile, a full dress rehearsal ahead of Republic Day was also held in the Sub Division Zanskar conducted at Sports Stadium Padum.

Naib Tehsildar Zanskar, Sajjad Hussain unfurled the National flag and took a salute in the presence of the Station House Officer and other sub-divisional level Officers.

A colorful march past was presented by Ladakh Police, Ex-Serviceman, NCC, Students of GHSS Padum, HS Karsha, Duzin Photang School Ufti, Lamdon Model High School Ufti, Tuition Centre Skidsherak. Sub Inspector Lobzang Choszom lead the parade during the rehearsal. A huge public gathering attended the program at the venue.

Similarly, a full-dress rehearsal was held at Higher Secondary School Drass, where Naib Tehsildar Ghulam Rasool unfurled the national flag. Contingents of the Ladakh Police and students from various schools participated in the march-past.

The dress rehearsals were also held in other sub divisions of the Kargil district with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
