Former Hurriyat Chairman Professor Abdul Gani Bhat Passes Away

Sopore , Sep 17: Renowned Kashmiri separatist leader and former Hurriyat Conference Chairman , Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat passed away on Wednesday evening at his residence in North Kashmir’s Boitangoo. As a prominent figure in Kashmir’s politics, Bhat played a significant role in shaping the region’s separatist movement for several decades.

Bhat’s illustrious political journey starts from Muslim United Front ( MUF ) . He was one of the founders of Muslim United Front (MUF) in 1986 along with Dr.Qazi Nissar ( Mirwaiz South Kashmir ) and Moulana Abbas Hussain Ansari . He was the president of the Muslim Conference, Jammu and Kashmir (MCJK), which was last banned by the Government of India through an official order by the Ministry of Home Affairs .

Rgarding his funeral prayers it will be held at 10:00 am at Baintagoo. Professor Bhat’s contributions to Kashmir’s politics and his legacy will be remembered for years to come.
