Flanked by the new entrants into his party, Er Rashid during a press conference in Srinagar added that J&K people, particularly, Kashmiris, have been brutally subjected to the endless miseries and atrocities PDP and NC have committed with the support of Centre as well as different agencies.
“Putting up an individual fight for the last four years, I tried my best to give Kashmiris justice. But some inimical forces along with PDP and NC scuttled my endeavors’,” said Rashid.
“Now, I am here in this avatar announcing that ‘Awami Ettihhad’ will work for holistic development, good governance and for resolving J&K issue,” he added while clearing that persons with criminal records have no place in his party fold.
While categorizing ‘Awami Ettihhad’, as Insaaf Nawaaz (pro-justice), Rashid said that his party will try best to give Kashmiris what Hind Nawaaz (PDP, NC, Cong, others) and Hurriyat Nawaz (separatists) have failed at.
“NC and PDP sent 2001 parliament attack convict, Mohammad Afzal Guru to gallows by sabotaging my resolutions—stopping Guru from gallows and later seeking his mortal remains back to Kashmir after his hanging,” blurted Rashid.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Rashid added were ‘ranting’ about their letters to Indian premier Dr. Manmohan Singh seeking Guru’s mortal remains back.
The two pro-India parties, Rashid said have a knack of representing New Delhi in Kashmir rather than stand for Kashmir at the Centre. He added that his party Awami Ettihhad’ will lead J&K towards the right direction.
“The people should shun NC and PDP and vote for our party. I will reciprocate positively and guide them to truth,” claimed Rashid while clearing, “My party will not trample over the Hurriyat leadership. We will not engage with them. But any help sought in the resolution of J&K issue will be responded positively by us.”
Replying to question that when all the political parties have failed to yield Kashmiris anything why is he sure of turning a new leaf, Rashid said, “Let them (Kashmiris) vote for Awami Ettihaad’, I will make the system to follow the law. Having being subjected to atrocious nature myself, I will pull out J&K from the quagmires of miseries,” claimed Rashid.
“Let God’s wrath fall upon me if I represent any ‘Agency’. I am not a VIP but have come from a poor family with the sole purpose to serve people and relieve them from anarchy and present corrupt system. If I had wished I would have been a Minister but I am not a power monger and just want to take people out from the mess,” Rashid said. (CNS)
