PPP strongly condemns the state highhandedness

Srinagar, 06 June (KMW): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman and senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Engineer. Hilal Ahmed War was shifted to Srinagar Central Jail today. Er. War was arrested on June 02 in a joint raid conducted by Police Stations Maisuma and Kothibagh.
War’s arrest is a part of the largescale crackdown on separatist camp in the wake of the upcoming Assembly elections for the Anantnag constituency after it was left vacant due to the demise of former CM, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. This crackdown is also seen as government’s response to the unity efforts in the resistance camp spearheaded by senior pro-freedom leaders.
The constant detention and house-arrest of senior resistance leaders has drawn widespread condemnation from various quarters. Er. War’s arrest and subsequent shifting to the Central Jail is a glaring example of the state’s highhandedness and underscores the fact that J&K is a police state and the democracy that India and its stooges talk about in Kashmir is a farce. PPP condemns such ugly actions of the government and the state police in the strongest of words.
Mufti’s much touted Battle of Ideas is nothing but a farce and in fact this regime is dancing to the tunes of the RSS demagogues based at Nagpur. PDP leaders have sold their conscience to RSS and everything that we see panning out in Kashmir at the moment has a blend of saffron in it.
Mohd. Shafi Lone was also taken to the Central Jail alongside Er. War.
