Enterprising Ladakh Brings Entrepreneurial Skills to Women in Remote Bogdang Village, Nubra

Bogdang, Nubra – Under the Enterprising Ladakh initiative, a three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) from 12th to 14th August 2025 was conducted in the remote village of Bogdang, aimed at equipping local women with practical business skills and enterprise opportunities.

The participants included women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under LRLM Leh, led by Ms. Asiya Tabassum – District Programme Manager – and Ms. Shahida – Block Programme Manager.

Day one featured sessions by Mr. Rigzin Wangdus and Ms. Fariha Fatima on entrepreneurship fundamentals and self-employment prospects. On day two, Mr. Haji Ghulam Mohd., a noted agri-entrepreneur from Turtuk, shared his expertise in horticulture and agri-based ventures. The programme concluded with product presentations by SHGs and other participants, showcasing locally made goods and ideas for scaling up.

Situated in a geographically isolated area with limited access to markets and resources, Bogdang’s women gained valuable exposure, confidence, and connections through this initiative, furthering Enterprising Ladakh’s mission to promote inclusive growth across the region.
