Srinagar, August 1(KMW): A contingent of J & K Police headed by SHO, Police Station Maisuma raided the Residence of All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader and People’s Political Party (PPP), Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War today early in the morning and arrested Mr. War . People’s Political Party took serious note of the arrest of their party chief and termed the arrest as illegal, unconstitutional and a barbaric act.
According to a statement issued to KMW, Engineer Hilal’s arrest is seen as a preventive measure by the J & K Police against a possible protest against Authorities for converting a famous Kousar Naag into an another Hindu shrine for so called Yatra purpose. A party spokesperson condemned his arrest in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of right to expression.
