Engineer Hilal War under House Arrest, Not Allowed to offer Eid Prayers

Srinagar, July 29 (KMW): In an attempt to prevent senior pro- freedom to offer Eid Prayers, J&K Police has placed Young, energetic and visionary leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) and People’s Political Party (PPP), Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War today immediately after finishing his Fajjar Nimaz (Morning Prayers). Mr. War was scheduled to offer his Eid Nimaz (prayers) in Jamia Masjid, the police officials have asked PPP Chairman that he cannot offer his Eid Nimaz in view of possible protest after Eid Prayers against Israel and India.
According to a statement issued to KMW, The party spokesperson condemned his house detention in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of fundamental Human Rights. “This highhandedness of the State exposes the colonial thinking of India.
“This inhuman action of J & K Police is unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional in the eyes of International Law and is clear violation of Universal eclaration of Human Rights and freedom of Religion. This action of J & K Police on the instructions of Home Ministry of India is a slur on the so called democratic face of India and it amply proves Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into a Police State.
