Encounter rages in Bandipora

Srinagar:A fierce gun battle erupted in woods of Bandipora in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.  One militant has been reportedly killed while an army trooper was critically injured in encounter.
Official sources said a gun fight between militants and troops of 3 madras ensued at Lashkote area in Bandipora district.
They said that the encounter started last night after troops came under heavy firing from the militants hiding in the think forests. “The gunfight is going,” Lt Col Soud, defence ministry official said here in a statement. Sources, said that one militant was killed in the gun battle while an army trooper was seriously injured in the gun battle so far.
Meanwhile, militants opened fire at a Police Station in Pulwama late in the evening. No causality was reported in the firing.
Official sources said that Police immediately cordoned off the area to nab the attackers. When reports last poured in, no arrests were made in the area.
