Encounter in Pulwama south Kashmir

Srinagar: An encounter broke out between militants and joint team of police, army and Paramilitary CRPF at Rajpora area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late Friday.SP Pulwama Amit Kumar told that based on specific information, police assisted by 44 Rashtriya Rifles and 182 Battalion CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search operation of Hanjan Rajpora. “As the joint team zeroed in on a particular house, the militants opened fire which was retaliated, triggering off an encounter.” He said that encounter was suspended due to darkness while joint team has sealed off all the exit points for militants to escape. The SP said three militants were believed to be under the trap.
