EC Tashi Reviews Developmental Projects Across Zanskar

Zanskar, June 5: Executive Councillor (EC) for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Forest, Wildlife, and Information, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Phunsok Tashi, conducted an extensive tour of the Zanskar Sub-Division to assess the progress of ongoing developmental works and inspect newly sanctioned projects under the Capex and Special Development Package (SDP) schemes.

As part of the visit, EC Tashi laid the foundation stones for multiple key infrastructure projects. These included a multi-utility hall at Salapi, sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹328 lakh, and another hall at Pidmo, estimated at ₹321.08 lakh. Additionally, the foundation stone for a new building for Middle School Pidmo, estimated at ₹152.98 lakh, was also laid.

Accompanied by the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Junior Engineers (JEs) from the ZDA/R&B Division Zanskar, EC Tashi inspected ongoing construction at several sites. These included the motorable bridge at Pishu, the Revenue Complex, the community hall at Zangla, the picnic spot at Ufti, and the Information Office in Zanskar.

On-site directions were issued to the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of projects in line with the timelines mentioned in the tender documents. The EC also stressed maintaining construction quality as per government specifications.

The Executive Engineer and other engineers present assured the EC that all works would be completed on schedule with strict adherence to quality standards.
