Dr. Farooq appeals people to contribute whole-heartedly for special children

Srinagar: Union Minister for Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah today asked the people to come forward and contribute for the welfare of the mentally and physically challenged children in the valley.
He was speaking at Fund Raising Music Concert” Waheed Jeelani Show” for Special Abled Children of Kashmir organised by the Kashmir Music Club Co-operative Ltd at SKICC Auditorium.
The Union Minister on the occasion announced Rs.5 lakhs and one Vehicle for Special School Cum Rehabilitation Challenged Children ,Kursoo Rajbagh Srinagar.
He asked the Foundation Management for utilization of the money judiciously and on the welfare schemes like providing better education, skill development, so that they may not be dependent on others. He said it is our collective responsibility to come forward to help generously such kind of kids so that they may not feel any kind of isolation and they may be able to contribute equally towards the society. He asked the people for developing such a society where there will be any discrimination between the two children on the basis mental and physical attributes.
The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr Nawang Rigzin Jora ,while announcing Rs.3 lakh for the betterment of mentally and physically challenged children of ‘Chotay Taray Foundation’, appreciated the efforts of the The Kashmir Music Club Co-Operative Ltd especially Waheed Jeelani for organising such kind of programmes for encouraging such kids, which is our prime responsibility. He said that in future such kind of programmes should also be conducted for raising funds to these children. He congratulated Mr. Waheed Jeelani for mesmerizing the people by his melodious voice by presenting scintillating cultural show.
Minister for Agriculture, Mr Ghulam Hassan Mir said that it is a great step towards a healthy society particularly for the betterment of the specially abled children of Kashmir. He advised the programme organisers to conduct these programmes in future also for a noble cause.
Earlier, the Jam packed audience at SKICC thrilled on the songs sung by Waheed Jeelani in both the languages Kashmiri and other languages.
The organisers throwing light on conducting this programme, said that the basic concept of this programme is to raise funds for the betterment of the children of Chotay Taray Foundation.
On the occasion, Dr.Farooq Abdullah along with Mr. Gh.Hassan Mir and Nawang Rigzin Jora launched a website on Kashmir Music Club for the lovers of Kashmiri Music.
