Dr Fai ambassador of Kashmiris: Geelani

SRINAGAR: The Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani paid rich homage to the resolve and determination of the head of the Kashmir American Council Dr Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai to continue his efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at international level.
“If the US court awards any severe punishment to Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai, it will be against the basic principals and demands of democracy and justice. And it will expose the USA’s claim that it respects the freedom and aspirations of its people,” said Geelani in a statement on Saturday.
“This matter is the test case for OIC member countries, International human rights organizations, Amnesty International and Asia Watch. They should use their influence to save Dr Fai from becoming the victim of any unjustified torture.”
Meanwhile, Geelani said Dr Fai was discharging the responsibilities of a sincere and effective diplomat of Kashmiris at international level. He expressed satisfaction that Dr Fai had announced to stay firm on his stand and not to compromise Kashmir’s freedom.
