Srinagar: Stating that the issuance of Dogra certificate was a very serious issue, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Friday said that his led Hurriyat faction wouldn’t rest until the government revokes the order.“It’s not a small issue, but a conspiracy to divide Jammu and Kashmir and erase the identity of Muslims. We will not allow the government to turn Jammu into a Dogra desh and would continue our peaceful struggle until the government revokes the order,” Geelani told a Friday gathering at Baramulla today.Geelani also asked youth to refrain from stone pelting and any form of violence, saying “stones cannot defend us against bullets.”“We are fighting against a ruthless occupying force, which doesn’t give a damn about moral and human values,” Geelani said while expressing satisfaction over the ideological association of the young generation with the freedom movement. “This means that the movement is not confined to Geelani and it would continue after my death and no force on earth can deny us our right,” he said.Geelani said no solution within the ambit of Indian constitution of self-rule and autonomy proposals of pro-India parties like NC, PDP was acceptable to Kashmriis . He said India’s claims of being a democracy had been “exposed” and the whole world knew that India was crushing the peaceful movement of Kashmiris with brute force.Geelani reiterated that the fight against India was not against Hinduism but because India had “occupied” Kashmir through force.Geelani also demanded unconditional release of all political prisoners languishing in jails, and urged Amnesty International and other rights groups to intervene in this matter.
