Divisional Admn issues medium danger avalanche warning

SRINAGAR, MARCH 11: Divisional administration Kashmir has informed that in view of the weather predictions made by Indian Metrological Department and Communication received from Director, Ministry of Defence, Snow and Avalanche Study Extt, Chandigarh, a medium danger avalanche warning exists for avalanche prone areas above 300 mtrs in all districts of the valley.
In this connection people are advised not to venture in steep avalanche prone areas during next 48 hours. The inclement weather may also trigger landslide and blockage of roads in vulnerable areas.
Accordingly all the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to monitor the situation and take immediate necessary precautionary measures in such areas to avoid any loss of life or property.
Meanwhile, the administration has established control rooms at district headquarters for the convenience of the people to tackle any eventuality.
