Div Com visits South Kashmir; Takes stock of essential services, snow clearance

SRINAGAR, March 02(KMW): Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Rohit Kansal today conducted an extensive tour of Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts to assess the situation arisen due to recent snowfall besides reviewing snow clearance on roads and status of essential services in the districts.

According to a statement issued to KMW, Chief Engineers of R&B, I&FC, Director Health Services, Joint Director Tourism and Joint Director Information accompanied the Div Com.
The Deputy Commissioner’s informed the Divisional Commissioner in detail regarding the position of essential services being made available to the people.
The Divisional Commissioner took stock of clearance of snow from the roads, restoration of power and water supply and asked the concerned to ensure adequate supply of essentials besides adequate medicare in hospitals.
The Deputy Commissioner’s was informed that snow has been cleared from the roads linking district headquarters with the Tehsil headquarters.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam informed Divisional Commissioner that 25 families from Waltengoo consisting of 54 persons have been shifted to safer places due to danger of snow avalanches.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited district hospital, Anantnag and Shopian.
