Div Com reviews road widening of NH at Pantha Chowk

SRINAGAR, MAY 28(KMW): In connection with road widening at Pantha Chowk-Zewan crossing, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon reviewed the pace and progress of road widening of National Highway at Pantha Chowk Srinagar here today. In this regard, the Divisional Commissioner convened a high level meeting in which the owners of houses and shops whose structures came under the road widening project were also participated in the meeting.

The committee settled a large number of compensation cases of property holders on spot in the meeting in presence of owners of the houses and shops. The meeting was further informed that more than Rs. 1 crore in favour of the beneficiaries has been released.
The Div Com asked the property holders to remove immediately their structures which come under road widening plan as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Chief Engineer, PWD, Vice Chairperson SDA, Collector Land Acquisition, SDA, Joint Commissioner Works SMC, Chief Town Planner and other officers.
