Div Com conducts city tour to review traffic scenario

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 21(KMW): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today reviewed the traffic scenario in Srinagar and directed removal of various bottlenecks so that there is no impediment for smooth plying of traffic.

The Div Com discussed the matters related to various issues confronting the traffic flow with VC LAWDA, VC SDA, SSP Traffic and other officers. The officers informed the Div Com about various initiatives taken by their respective departments. The Div Com directed the officials to construct dividers at Hawal and Qamarwari within two days so that the menace of traffic jams is reduced at these places. He also directed the SDA and SMC to install signages and remove all unauthorized vendors.

The officers later conducted a city tour to review the ground situation. The DDC Srinagar also accompanied the officials on the tour.

The Div Com directed removal of permission of roadside car parking at certain places on MA Road as the same has proved to be a bottleneck. Outside banquet hall, the Div Com directed the R&B department to repair the road around the Chinar tree. The Div Com also inspected the work on Grade Separator constructed outside Radio Kashmir building. He directed the executing agency to start the work on double shifts to commission the project within the deadline.

The Div Com also inspected the traffic scenario at Karanagar where he directed the officials to level the road so that traffic movement is not hampered. He also directed removal of bottleneck structures at the earliest.

The Div Com also visited Parimahal where he directed the officials to conduct daily cleanliness drives so no garbage is accumulated anywhere.
