Distt Admin B’la leads swift essential services restoration efforts post Snowfall

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 04: Under the supervision of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, the District Administration Baramulla is fully mobilized, with all departments collaborating closely to swiftly restore essential services across every part of the district following the fresh snowfall.

Control rooms have been established at both district and sub-division levels to enhance coordination and execution of measures aimed at restoring essential services during these challenging weather conditions.

Snow clearance operations are in full throttle in the district with Roads and Buildings (R&B), Mechanical & Engineering Department (MED) and Municipal Councils/ Committees (MCs), working in tandem to clear roads for smooth passage of traffic. The dedicated teams and machinery remain on the ground, tirelessly working to restore road connectivity to any left out village and town area.

Similarly, the Power Development Department (PDD) has men on the ground restoring electricity in most of the district with front-line officials working on a war footing to provide uninterrupted power supply to unconnected areas.

Healthcare services continued to operate smoothly in the District Hospital, SDHs, CHCs and PHCs of the district as essential medical supplies were preemptively stocked to address adverse weather conditions.

Further, tap water supply has been reinstated in the majority of areas in the district and for areas where the supply remained interrupted, the Public Health Engineering (PHE)  department is delivering water tanks to meet the demand.
