SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Dr. Farooq A. Lone has impressed upon the farmers to adopt latest technologies to achieve self-sufficiency.
This was stated by the Director Agriculture while flagging off a group of 40 farmers of Srinagar district on a 10 day interstate tour under “Rashtriya Kissan Vikas Yojna†(RKVY) at Lal Mandi, Srinagar today.
Dr. Lone said that objective of such tours is to make farmers aware about latest research in agriculture sector & apply this technology in their fields & also educate same to other farmers. The farmers shall be visiting Karnal Indo-Israel Vegetable Project, Vegetable Research Station ICAR Solan, Potato Research Station Kufri Shimla, Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana, Horticulture Development Farm, Ramban & other relevant places during the tour.
On this occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer, Srinagar, Mr. Sharief Ahmad Dar said that organizing of farmer’s tour is a continuous process launched by the Government so that farmers adopt high-tech agriculture to boost agriculture production.
