Separatists furious but tight lipped.
Srinagar: At a time when Syed Ali Shah Geelani allegedly bypassed Muthida Majlis Mushawrat (MMM) and issued a strike call in his own capacity, users on social networking sites are busy in raising different questions in this regard while MMM Thursday said that due to arrests of its leaders it was unable to meet and chalk out a strategy. However scores of separatist leaders hold Geelani responsible for creating a chaotic situation by keeping MMM at bay saying there was no need for Geelani sahib to call for a strike, “He could have simply told MMM to issue strike call rather than saying he consulted MMM,†a senior Hurriyat leader said. “Most of the leaders who was part of MMM have been arrested and as such we are unable to meet at an appropriate place to chalk out a strategy. I suppose keeping this fact in View Geelani Sahab issued a strike call for Thursday,†a top MMM leader on condition of anonymity told. Terming the strike call issued by Syed Ali Shah Geelni as most unfortunate, senior Hurriyat leader Javid Ahmed Mir said that on-going Kashmir movement is run by people itself people are yearning for the unification of all separatist groups. “If MMM was on forefront, then there was no need to bypass it and issue strike call. Though I was not the part of MMM still I welcome it as it comprised the representatives from all groups including Hurriyat (G), Hurriyat (M), JKLF, Bar Association, Jamat-e-Islami, Duktaran-i-Milat and so one. MMM was the sign of unity but to bypass it and issue calls in personal capacities spoil everything,†Mir told CNS adding people of Kashmiri have suffered a lot and they wish to see all separatist groups under one platform. He further said that some people feel that this movement is run by them but “they are wrong as it is the movement run by people,†Another top separatist leader who used to be the part and parcel of the meetings of MMM, said that a particular leader confused people and Kashmiri’s are unlucky for not having a true, modest and soft leader. “I was the part of MMM meetings. If MMM was on forefront then there was no need for Syed Ali Shah Gellani to issue a strike call. All this was done for the reasons which I can’t utter. May some top separatist leaders thought that MMM take away lime light from them,†he said adding the whole nation is confused and there is chaos among Kashmiri youth because of lack of leadership. Separatist leader Mohammad Yousuf Naqash said that he was never a part of MMM. “I don’t know who are at the helm of affairs in MMM. I have nothing to do with and I can’t comment over the issue,†he said. Chairman Muslim Conference, Shabir Ahmed Dar said that it was better to follow the programme of united leadership. “Let me tell you I was not the part of MMM but I think unity is in the better interest of people. If people were following the calendar of MMM then there was no need for Geelani sahib to issue strike call,†he said. Kashmiri users on social networking site, facebook are raising so many questions about the strike called that was issued by Hurriyat G Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani against the killing of Saidapora youth. “If Geelani appeals people to follow MMM, then how come he has issued a strike call? It is not a good sign,†a user comments. In response to his comment another user claims that Geelani was never a part of MMM and all it was an eye wash to befool people of Kahsmir. Mohammad Imran a user says that Geelani should himself handle everything as the protest calendars issued by MMM are replete with flaws and do not serve any purpose. Another user claims that MMM was helpless as traders and transporters had requested to them to come up with lenient protest calendars.
