DG Prisons Visits Poonchh Jail

Srinagar, 23 February: DG Prisons Dilbag Singh today visited border district of Poonch to take stock of the situation at District Jail Poonch along with SSP Poonch Rajiv Panday, Addl. SP Headquarter Anwarul Haq, besides Incharge Superintendent of the Jail Sanju Kumar, DySP Farooq Khan Company Commandar JKAP meant for outer security of Jail, other police officers and his staff officer. Available security apparatus and infrastructure was examined and deficiencies noted. Overhauling of the Jail is required which will be done keeping in mind the modern security and infrastructure requirements. DG Prisons interacted with the inmates during the course of inspection of the jail premises and also attended to some of the public deputations while being at Poonch Jail.
Later a meeting with police and prison officers was also held at District Police Headquarters to discuss the security related issues.
