DG Prisons visits Kashmir based jails to review security

Srinagar, Feb 20(KMW): Dilbag Singh IPS, DGP Prisons who continued his visit to valley based Jails today to have security review of District Jail Kupwara along with District Magistrate Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir KAS, SSP Kupwara, Shamsher Hussain, Addl. SP Kupwara, Farooq Kaiser, Dy SP Headquarter, Shri Sudhanshu Verma IPS, Commandant 162 Bn CRPF, Mohit Kapoor besides DIG Prisons, incharge of District Jail Kupwara, Company Commander of CRPF and Staff Officer to DGP Prisons. Whole of the premises of the Institution was inspected; requirement as well as improvement needed with regard to the security and infrastructure were noted and will be attended to or improved upon on priority.

After District Jail Kupwara, DGP Prisons moved to Baramulla and had a general security meeting held in DIG NKR Office Baramulla wherein over all security scenario of the valley was deliberated upon. The high level meeting was attended by GOC 19 infantry Maj Gen. G.S Rawal, IGP Kashmir Zone S.P. Pani, IPS, DIG NKR Baramulla Vidhi Kumar Birdi IPS, SSP Baramulla, Shri Imtiaz Ahmed, SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh, SSP Handwara Shri Z.A Jeelani SSP ( Operations) Baramulla Shafqat Ahmed, DIG Prisons besides Army Commander Shridhar and other senior army officers.

Later DGP Prisons Shri Dilbag Singh made a detailed visit of District Jail Baramulla alongwith DIG Prisons, SSP Baramulla, DySP HQ, Company Commander CRPF and inspected all the premises to check the infrastructure requirement and issued on-spot instructions to Superintendent Jail to abide by the security protocol and adhere to the security procedure and precautions in coordination with the District SSP.
