JAMMU, (KMW News): Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, convened an officers meeting to review the arrangements for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra commencing on June 28 here today.
The DC stressed upon the district administration to put in best efforts for smooth and successful conduct of Yatra.
Threadbare discussion was held on necessary arrangements like adequate supply of essentials, registration, installation of hoarding and banners, lodging facilities in Jammu district, transportation, security arrangements, fixing of signboards, medical facilities, sanitation, traffic regulation, etc.
He directed for constituting special squads to keep check on overcharging, black-marketing and quality of goods and eatables during the Yatra. He also directed Medical Officer to ensure sanitation at Railway Station and other places visited by the pilgrims. He asked for engaging volunteers at railway station for proper guidance and support to the pilgrims.
He informed the meeting that a control room would be set up at DC office Jammu to monitor arrangements for smooth conduct of yatra. He also reviewed arrangements for establishment of various registration counters in Jammu city.
He emphasized upon the officers to work with coordination and enthusiasm to put in place all the arrangements well in time.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu R. S. Sharma, ADC Sushma Chouhan, RTO Jammu Arvind Kotwal, SP City J. S. Johar, Deputy Director Information Y. P. Suman, Dy Controller Legal Metrology Manoj Prabhakar, SP Security Mahmood Choudhary, Dy SP Traffic Naseem Choudhary, Collector JDA P. K. Koul, GM JKTDC Ashwani Gupta, XEN PHE Ashok Gandotra, XEN PHE Sunil Gupta, Deputy Director Tourism Kanta Sharma, besides officers of Police, CRPF and district administration attended the meeting.
