DC Kargil Flags Off Teams for 69th SGFI Taekwondo Championship

Kargil, November 21: The Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today flagged off the Under-17 Boys and Girls Taekwondo Teams of Ladakh as they depart to participate in the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Taekwondo Championship 2025. The championship is scheduled to be held at the Khelo India Indoor Stadium in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, starting from November 25, 2025.

During the ceremony, the DC extended his best wishes to the young athletes and presented traditional Khataks as a gesture of encouragement.

Key dignitaries present included Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil, Abid Ali, staff of the DC Office, and officials of the Youth Services & Sports Department Kargil.

The DC appreciated the dedication and hard work of the athletes and urged them to perform with discipline, confidence, and true sportsmanship, bringing laurels to Ladakh.

The teams will represent the Union Territory of Ladakh and compete against top contenders from across the country in the forthcoming national championship.

The team contingent comprises 6 boys, 1 girl, 1 coach, and 1 manager.
