DC Kargil Chairs Meeting to Review Physical and Financial Status of RDD District Capex

Kargil, October 06: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall, Baroo, to review the physical and financial progress of Rural Development Department works under the District Capex Budget for the financial year 2025 – 26.

The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil, Executive Engineers, Block Development Officers (BDOs) of all blocks, and AEEs/JEs of the Rural Engineering Wing.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed the status of various components under the District Capex, including CCDA, Untied Funds, and Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).

He directed the concerned officers to book expenditure at the earliest and to expedite the execution of pending works. The DC emphasized that 80 percent of the expenditure should be booked by the end of October.

The DC instructed officials to make rural libraries self sustainable by introducing a nominal user fee. He further directed the officers to conduct Gram Sabhas within a week to pass necessary resolutions related to local development activities.

The DC also urged officials to explore innovative ideas under MGNREGA, particularly focusing on sanitation and waste management. He asked  to collect garbages from private schools and companies and stressed to maintain cleanliness.
