DC Kargil Chairs Meeting on Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2025

Kargil, August 08: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), today chaired a meeting to review and discuss the ongoing process for the Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2025.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil/Deputy Election Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ERO), Project Officer Wages (ACD), District Panchayat Officer, Headquarter to DC, Kargil, District Informatics Officer (NIC), Election Officer, Election Cell Kargil, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Kargil district.

During the meeting, the DC provided a detailed outline of the process and highlighted the significance of conducting a transparent and comprehensive revision of the electoral rolls. He emphasized that the electoral roll forms the foundation of democracy and urged officials to ensure its accuracy and completeness.

The DEO was briefed about the receipt of various electoral forms such as Form 2A, Form 2B and Form 2C.

The DC directed officials to expedite the revision process and ensure the active involvement of Panchayats. He emphasized to conduct house-to-house survey for Panchayat roll revision and verification, and instructed officials to pay special attention to Panchayat Ward Register (PWR) Panchayat Electoral Roll (PER) verification for effective addition and deletion of entries.

He further stressed on Aadhaar seeding to enhance the authenticity of the data and reduce duplication. The Deputy Election Officer Kargil, Kacho Imteeaz, instructed BDOs to resolve pending tasks and update the rolls regularly. He also reviewed the online progress of additions and deletions across blocks and asked officials to utilize the official WhatsApp group for quick resolution of field-level issues.
