Curfew to be imposed in Old city, Maisuma on Friday

Srinagar, Jun 19 (KMW): Keeping in view of the scheduled mega rally of Awami Action Committee (AAC) to be held on Friday, the authorities here have decided to impose restrictions in entire old city and also in some areas of Lal Chowk.
Sources in the District Administration told that no rallies will be allowed in the city on Friday keeping in view the law and order situation and that the restrictions shall be imposed in areas falling within the jurisdriction of seven police stations in the old city.
Also the restrictions will be imposed in some particular areas of Lal Chowk including Maisuma and Kothibagh, sources said.
The government is also likely to impose restrictions in some areas of South Kashmir to prevent entry of people to Srinagar so attending the rally.
Pertinently, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged people to make the June 20 mega rally a success by assembling at Srinagar’s Municipal Park in the morning. On June 20, this year, AAC is completing its 50 years. (KMW)
