We were told that curfew has been imposed since early this morning and were directed to remain indoor’, a resident told over phone.

He said the streets wore a deserted look as only security force personnel could be seen on the roads. Anybody, including students and government employees, trying to move out their homes were being chased away and directed to remain indoor.

We do not know why the authorities had imposed restrictions, he said.
